Coach Bio
Biography: Coach Steve Schiessl
 
Coach Steve Schiessl has 20 plus years of coaching experience at both the club and high school level.  He has worked and continues to work with each level of swimmer on the WAM Swim Club.  Coach Steve has had many State and National qualifiers, including several State, Zone and National Champions.  He has won awards as the age group, conference and state "Coach of the Year".  Coach Steve has been a Wisconsin Zone coach numerous times and the Head Coach on two occasions.  His swimmers have gone on to very successful college careers setting many school and conference records along the way.  Coach Steve has also worked at a number of camps and clinics in Wisconsin.  He has coached the Kiel High School and Grafton High School Girls teams as well as the Kiel High School Boys team.  His Kiel High School Girls finished 3rd as a team at State and the Grafton High School Girls were the State runner up and State Champions twice in his three years at the helm.
 
Coach Steve lives in Kiel, WI and is the father of five children.  He also works part time for both the Kiel and Grafton Recreation Departments.    
 
 
 
 
Assistant Coach Heidi Goetsch
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Assistant Coach Heidi Goetsch has had over 3 years of coaching experience, plus more than 5 years as a swimming teacher (All Levels) along with over 8 years of competitive swimming under her belt.  She graduated from Plymouth High School graduate in 2004. Heidi will be graduating in 2009 from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies.  As a former WAM swimmer, who went on to be a Plymouth HS team captain, 4-year letter winner and 3 time WIAA Division 2 State Qualifier.  At Plymouth High School, Heidi set the school record in the 100 Backstroke and also set other pools records at Two Rivers HS.  In 2004 she entered into her UW-Milwaukee swim career and has earned 2006 All-Horizon Conference 2nd Team Honors as a member of the 200 Free Relay Team that set a school record.  Moreover, Heidi is consistently achieving new career best times, even in her final years of college swimming.  Coach Heidi hopes to pass on all her experience and knowledge to the entire WAM swimming team.
